Why your skincare may not give you the desired results

  1. Lack of a well-structured skincare routine. For example, you may only be using a cleanser and a cream, or just washing your face with water and applying a serum. Even if these products contain high-quality ingredients, they cannot provide complete care on their own. Every skin needs:

- Cleansing (especially in the evening, this includes two steps: cleansing oil or balm followed by a foam cleanser);

- Hydration;

- Exfoliation (using gentle acids or scrubs without harsh particles);

- Sun protection.

No single product can replace all these steps, so to achieve the best results, a comprehensive skincare routine is essential.

  1. Incompatible products in your routine. Some ingredients can cancel out each other's effects or even cause harm. For example, combining AHA acids with essential oils can lead to burns, as essential oils increase skin permeability. It’s important to choose compatible ingredients to avoid unwanted side effects.
  1. Considering the aging type in your routine. If you have fine-line aging, intensive hydration is crucial. Lifting treatments aimed at reducing puffiness may not be your priority, but for sagging skin, such lifting can visually reduce age-related changes.
  1. Nutrient deficiencies. A lack of protein in your diet can prevent the natural production of collagen, affecting skin firmness. Before investing in expensive skincare products, make sure to address any nutritional deficiencies to achieve better results.
  1. Plateau effect. If you are already following an advanced routine with peptides, retinol, and vitamin C, and you’ve achieved excellent results, it’s now about maintaining them with consistent use.
  1. Lack of consistency in your routine. Ingredients like peptides require daily use for noticeable results. If you have several serums (one with peptides, one with extracts, one with acids, and one with retinol) but use them irregularly, the results will be less effective. Regular use of acids a few times a week, retinol every other day, peptide serum both morning and evening, and vitamin C and antioxidant serums every morning is essential.
  1. Stress and its impact on your skin. Stress negatively affects your appearance, causing dull skin, wrinkles, dryness, redness, and inflammation. Taking care of your well-being is just as important as your skincare routine. Remember, your health is your top priority.
