Tackling Stickiness in Skincare Products

It’s important to note that stickiness is a highly individual experience. Some people say our toners feel heavy (even though they have a water-like texture, no exaggeration!), while others find even our most nourishing ceramide creams are not enough. Everyone is different—it's not just about skin type, but also personal preferences and perception. However, I’d like to share a few tips to minimize any discomfort you may experience if you encounter stickiness.

  1. Ensure proper cleansing, which should include regular exfoliation (using acids or gentle peels). This will help your skin absorb products better, rather than leaving them on the surface.
  1. Choose products that suit your skin type and sensory preferences. For example, if you have oily skin, you may prefer a light, water-based mist for hydration rather than a milky-textured serum.
  1. Massage the products into your skin rather than leaving them on the surface. Many people, especially in Korean skincare routines, use a gentle tapping technique to ensure full absorption.
  1. Don’t overuse products. While you may love a product and its results, it’s best not to overdo it. Just 3-5 drops of serum are usually enough for your entire face.
  1. If you still experience stickiness, try applying each layer after the previous one has fully absorbed. For example, apply your serum only after your toner has completely absorbed. Yes, it may take a little more time, but this method is highly effective—we've tested it ourselves! 🥸

P.S. Stickiness from serums (as they are the most concentrated products) is often reduced by layering with a cream or SPF as the final step in your routine.
