If you have been treated for acne with Effezel / Differin / Klenzit / Adaklin (all of these products contain alapalene, a highly irritating retinoid).
Adapalene (the active ingredient of the above remedies) is an extremely aggressive component, which in addition to treating and improving the situation with acne, dries out the skin.
Retinoic dermatitis is a skin irritation that occurred against the background of the use of preparations containing vitamin A (retinoids). The occurrence of retinoic dermatitis is a natural skin reaction to the high percentage of retinol and saturation of the skin with it.
And, yes, our products contain a high percentage of actives (either the maximum allowed or above the working concentration) to soothe the skin. For example, our Vitamin C and Niacinamide serums have 5% panthenol, which is a drugstore story and that percentage is only found in ointments and afterburn products.
But! You must realise that the use of external retinoids implies the development of dermatitis, which must be eliminated COMPLETELY.
✅ This is a complete exclusion of additional aggressive effects on the skin (sulphates; scarabs; acids).
✅ Injection of ceramides to restore the skin's barrier function.
✅ Use of panthenol.
✅ Use a moisturising/restorative cream ONE HOUR after applying products that contain retinoids.
✅ To help the skin it is important to layer toner in 5-7 layers, especially if it contains probiotics / centella / panthenol / ceramides.
✅ ALWAYS APPLY SPF! Even if it's cloudy. Even if you're at home all day. Traumatised skin (and retinoid dermatitis occurs in almost everyone who uses drugstore products based on the strongest and most aggressive retinoids) should be especially protected!
